Merry Christmas from Baylor

“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”

Romans 15:13 (NIV)

When the Magi traveled to Judea from the East, guided by the star over Bethlehem, they eagerly sought to behold the Messiah in the days following his birth. In Jerusalem they asked, “Where is the one who has been born king of the Jews? We saw his star when it rose and have come to worship him” (Matthew 2:2).

As we make our own journey toward the promise of Christ’s eternal presence in our lives, we, too, do so with great eagerness. Amid a world in need of healing and salvation, we raise our eyes to witness the star signaling Jesus’ birth. Our steps are guided by the peace, hope, and joy found in our Lord.

Baylor University has been blessed in numerous ways this year, and for that we give God abundant praise. As a preeminent Christian research university, we are privileged to educate and mentor thousands of men and women preparing for lives of service and leadership around the globe. We are similarly privileged to have the steady and faithful support of the Baylor Family. Your prayers, advocacy, and gifts continue to empower our collective efforts to fulfill our mission of serving as salt and light in the surrounding world.

As we experience the fellowship and cherished traditions of the Christmas season, I pray that we keep foremost in our hearts the miracle of the birth of Jesus on that holy night in Bethlehem.

Merry Christmas
