A Restart to the Spring Semester

March 22, 2020

Dear Students, Faculty, Staff and Parents,

As I look out my office windows this morning, the campus looks so different with our students dispersed throughout Texas, the United States and the world. But I can assure you that Baylor University’s commitment to our Christian mission and academic excellence remains the same as it has for 175 years. As we restart the spring semester in a way that none of us ever imagined via online course instruction, our faculty will still be teaching and our students will still be learning – in new and creative ways. We ask for an extra measure of grace as we all figure out this new reality under the coronavirus (COVID-19) together.

The University remains open and operational during normal business hours at this time, but with limited on-campus operations and staffing. Our faculty and staff are practicing vigorous social distancing measures – many of them working remotely from home – to keep everyone safe and healthy and to help curb the spread of COVID-19. I encourage you to frequently visit baylor.edu/coronavirus for the latest information and updates.

These are uncertain times, but we are sustained by our God of hope as we join in prayer for our nation and world and for all those whose lives have been impacted by COVID-19. As we begin this journey together this morning, please know that I pray God’s blessings on you each and every day that you will be strengthened by the grace that is in Christ Jesus.

Sincerely,

Linda A. Livingstone, Ph.D. President
