Merry Christmas from Baylor
“Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a Son, and shall call His name Immanuel.”
Isaiah 7:14 (ESV)
There are so many wonderful scriptures that we look to as we celebrate Christmas — from prophecies like the one we see in Isaiah 7:14, to celebrations as seen in Luke 2. Each one reminds us of God’s promises to His people. The miracle of Christ’s birth is a reflection of God’s love for us and His desire to be near us, to dwell among us.
In Isaiah, Christ is called Immanuel, “God with us,” a remarkable gift to a broken world. A little baby will become God incarnate. To our joy, this astonishing prophesy became reality. The eternal love that God offers each of us — both as we celebrate Christmas and throughout the year — lives in our hearts and animates our relationships and our lives.
We are truly blessed as God’s children to know that His faithfulness is everlasting. At Baylor, we also know the faithfulness of the Baylor Family whose support of our commitment to being a preeminent Christian research university prepares thousands of men and women for lives of service and leadership around the globe. Your generosity from season to season and your prayers from day to day strengthen our ability to make a profound difference in the world.
With gratitude in our hearts, we hope you and your family share in the joy of Christ’s birth and the fulfillment of God’s promises.
